Spencer is grateful to his parents for the opportunity to attend DCHS, and for the great coaches and incredible experiences with outstanding students, teammates and friends.

In baseball, Spencer made the all-district team, and was selected for all-conference, all-state and the All-Iowa Super Team. He was a football team captain, selected to first-team all-conference and second-team all-state, the same year his team made it to the Dome. He was also team captain in basketball and helped his team reach the state semi-finals.
Spencer was a student ambassador, National Honor Society member, and Rock in Prevention ambassador. He also received the Vonnie Hess Award, was winter formal king and Male Athlete of the Year.

He received a scholarship to Vanderbilt where he played baseball. He went on to play four years with the L.A. Dodgers and one spring with the Colorado Rockies. He is thankful for the relationships formed at DCHS with those who remain his best friends.
