Amy played basketball and ran track during her high school career.

In basketball, she was part of Dowling's 2000 State Championship team and 2001 State runner-u[. She was also named to the 1st Team All Conference, 2nd Team all State, and 2nd Team all CIML.

Her track experience resulted in a State Hurdle Championship her senior year.

While attending Trinity University her team won the Division III National Basketball Championship in 2003. She also set the record for most 3-pointers made in a season and was named to 1st Team Academic All District and 1st Team All Conference (Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference). She graduated cum laude.

Amy lives in Durham, NC with her husband Eric and son Brady. She writes part time for the UNC Athletics magazine.
