Becca Hittner

Girls Basketball • Girls Soccer
Graduation Year: 2016

Becca played a vital role as a team leader in both soccer and girls basketball at Dowling Catholic. She was a member of the Class 5A state championship basketball team in 2014 and helped her team to a runner-up finish in 2013 and to the semifinals in 2015. She was a three-time all-conference and all-state selection and received first team accolades as a senior when she was also named first team All-Iowa Elite. She was a two-year letter winner in soccer, a four-year letter winner in basketball and as a senior averaged 19.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

She continued her basketball career at Drake University where she started in all 30 games as a senior and scored more than 2,000 career points. During her time at Drake she was a two-time All-American honoree, two-time Academic All-American, three-time MVC Player of the Year, MVC Freshman of the Year, four-time first team All-MVC, and three-time MVC Scholar Athlete first team. She went on to play professional basketball in Spain for one year before returning to Drake as the women’s basketball graduate assistant.

What she remembers most about her time at Dowling Catholic are the relationships she formed with so many people in the community, many of whom she still keeps in touch with. She was also grateful to be surrounded by people who wanted the best for her, both on and off the court.
