Softball & Basketball Coach
Coach Wilkinson’s experience includes 20 years at Dowling Catholic where he spent five seasons as the varsity assistant softball coach, six seasons as head softball coach and had an overall record of 254 wins and 54 losses. He led the Maroons to four state tournament appearances where they finished as runner-up in 2002 and earned the championship title in 2004. His teams also won five straight CIML Conference softball championships.

As a softball coach he was recognized four times as the CIML Central Conference Coach of the Year, was the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association (IGCA) District Coach of the Year in 2003, and the IGCA 4A Coach of the Year in 2004.

He also served at DCHS for 11 seasons as the girls basketball varsity assistant coach and sophomore head coach and for seven seasons as the head girls basketball coach, earning a career record of 133 wins and 33 losses. His teams made it to the state tournament five teams and finished as runner-up in 2004. Two of those teams ended the regular season ranked number one.

He was recognized five times as the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) District Coach of the Year, four times as the CIML Central Conference Coach of the Year, and twice as the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association (IGCA) District Coach of the Year.

Coach Wilkinson has spent the last nine years at DMACC where he currently serves as the assistant softball coach. His DMACC teams have been ranked in the top five every season and have made seven appearances at the NJCAA College World Series.
