Football, Track and Baseball were the three sports Tyrone excelled at while at Dowling, but football is where he has continued to achieve success. His high school accomplishments include:

• All-State, All-State Elite and Iowa Shrine Bowl participant his senior year
• His junior year he rushed for 1,414 yards, 224 carries including 21 touchdowns, and 28 catches for seven more touchdowns.
• American Conference Player of the Year in 1994
• First Team All-Conference in 1993

His collegiate years took him to St. Ambrose in Davenport where he was MVP running back and newcomer of the year in 1998, and in 1999, MVP wide receiver and 1st Team All-Midwest League (NAIA).

In 2001 he started his Arena Football career with the Iowa Barnstormers, also playing with the Omaha Beef and Lincoln Capitals.

He has coached football at the high school level and currently coaches Dowling Catholic sophomore wide receivers. Since 2009 he has been Head Coach for the Des Moines Blaze, a semi-pro adult men’s football team. The Blaze was the semi-pro national champions last year.

Then in 2010, he founded the Midwest Football Alliance, an association of minor league football teams who showcase their franchises in clean, competitive and fan-friendly games, while also encouraging athletes to generate positive, interpersonal relationship within their community.

Tyrone lives in Des Moines and works for ARAG Legal Insurance.
