• Dowling Catholic: Coached Boys and Girls Track and Cross Country from 1964 to 2007
• Minnesota State University at Mankato: All-American Track & Cross Country
• Inducted in the Minnesota State University at Mankato Athletic Hall of Fame
• Along with son Mike and are first father-son inductees
• Currently, retired and resides in Urbandale with wife Linda
• Fondest Memories:
o All the championship teams, relay teams and all the great student-athletes he has been associated with during 44 years coaching at Dowling
o Coaching his 3 sons – Mike, Steve & Doug
o Watching granddaughter Karissa compete on the Dowling Catholic State Championship Cross Country team (2010) and seeing her place in 3 events and the Drake Relays that year
