Elliott Baker

Boys Tennis
Graduation Year: 2011

Elliott was an Aquinas Key Excellence Medal recipient, was awarded an academic letter and was named to the honor roll all four years at Dowling Catholic. He was a multi-sport athlete who earned a singles state champion title in tennis. He continued his tennis career at Creighton University where he was an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete from 2013-2015. He was named Big East Men’s Tennis Player of the Week in 2014 and was team captain and team MVP in 2015.

He received a bachelor’s degree in biology (2015) and a master’s in Clinical Anatomy (2016) from Creighton and is currently a third year medical student at Creighton University School of Medicine.

What he remembers most about his time at Dowling Catholic is working hard every day to win a state title and the support from his teammates and Coach O’Connor which made this accomplishment possible. He believes Dowling Catholic prepared him to be the best player he could be on the court, but also made him a better person off the court. He credits the culture at Dowling Catholic created by the tremendous coaches, faculty and students for allowing him to grow as an individual and to be at his best when his best was necessary. For that he is forever grateful.
